Once all this unofficial tournament malarkey dies down, any interest in a little team league?

Current Teams:

1. zsp/Thunderous
2. RedBridgeBeach/grons
3. Incandenza/Cassidy
4. Daan/landmine
5. rakatac/samular (+10 bonus points for League Commissioner)
6. lh34/mp13
7. Jewmowrestler/dradxhoran
8. jeymo/madsanders

I have my eight teams. Feel free to put your name in as a reserve (or as a potential Season 2 Expansion Team!) in case someone doesn't show.

After I get to 8 teams, I'll send some instructional PMs. Still not sure of the exact starting date.

Mostly because I just love making tables so gosh darn much.

Rough Draft Figgerin' for the inaugural season:

1. Doubles or Triples. Dubs is obviously easier to organize.

2. 8 teams, 2 divisions.

3a. Play each division team twice (6 games)
3b. Play each team from the other division once (4 games)
3c. That's ten games for each team. I think that is 40 total fixtures: 24 (12x2) for division play, 16 interdivision games.

4a. End of season Division leaders do a best-of-five play-off for the Championship.
4b. Playoff follows Home-Home-Away-Away-Home format for the team with the best record. "Home" team picks map and settings.

5. All-Star game? Players pick top three players from their division to represent in a Trips matchup. Winning division gets home field advantage in next season's interdivisional games? Those might be too-high of stakes, but it has to mean something.

6. Teams initiate and manage their own games. Report results to the commissioner.

7. I'll make pretty tables.

8. If it goes well, expansion teams and season 2

ooh, I like the idea of a league. A bit more forgiving than your standard elimination-style tournament. I don't want to make extra work for the coding department, but it seems like it'd be fairly straightforward to tweak the tournament system to accommodate league play.

Probably tough to get going during the holidays, but I'll check the status in january.
