What is dishonorable in MC?

In a recent post there was mention of somebody being an honorable player. I have often wondered what this means on MC, a war game about destroying all your opponents. The Honor page, which refers to an honor ranking system that no longer exists, says little except for a dead link to alleged threads on the topic. (It may be referring to this 2016 thread:

https://forum.majorcommand.com/threads/what-makes-an-honorable-player.7015/

or this 2012 thread:

https://forum.majorcommand.com/threads/dishonorable-behaviour-and-voiding-games.5461/

I never understood the honor ranking system, and I do not recommend reviving it. Aside from violating an informal chat agreement or colluding outside of the game with a friend to bring down another player in singles, I am not sure anything is dishonorable in MC. I would probably not even include the occasional chat bullying, threats, and backseat driving as dishonorable, as annoying as they can be. I do not indulge in them, but they still might be tactically effective. Thoughts?

I've always liked it. For one thing, it gives you the heads up on players who are... not so honourable. For me, that comes down to name calling, gaming the system by strategically skipping turns, letting their clock run out in real-time games instead of finishing the game just to waste your time, suiciding on you because they're frustrated, etc.

For another, I also found it to be a tangible way of saying thanks to someone who, for example, skipped their turn because you lost yours due to a glitch, wasn't a sore loser or gloating winner, or just someone who was enjoyable to play against.

None of it affects the game at all -- it's just informational.

The only (small) issue I had with the system was that I thought voting should be weighted. I suspect that most of honour points I lost were due to dishonourable players trying to get at me for some reason. A weighted system would at least reduce that. But again, since it's only for informational purposes, it's a very minor point.

I agree that this should be one of the last things to be re-implemented. And if it never came back, I wouldn't miss it much...
