Thanks.
Hmm... let me look into that.I'm not sure what you mean about Africa, you can reinforce 'backwards' through the drop zones, have always been able to.
Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. It will take some time as it requires manually typing in every path along which any region can attack another region, and I'll probably screw a bunch of them up. Be warned that test games on the map may be super wonky this morning.I'd say one-way attack with 2-way reinforcements is the best option for this map.
Hmm... let me look into that.
Edit: You know, I think I remember the issue now. (It's hard to remember back seven years about game issues and the patches we've made to get things working.) We can have it one of two ways, but we can't have it the way we want it. We can either have:
• 1-way attack with no reinforcements either way
or
• 1-way attack with reinforcements both ways
but we can't have
• 1-way attack with a 1-way reinforcement.
I'm my mind, the third option would be the best option. Conflict Africa is a great example: Morocco can load paratroopers into a plane and drop them into Murzuq, and then somehow those same troops can fly back up into the air and get back in the planes and fly home to Morocco? Ridiculous.
Anyhow, the question is whether or not we want no reinforcements or two-way reinforcements. In the case of this map, I think two-way reinforcements makes more sense. When we had this discussion a couple of years ago about the Mexican War map, we decided that no reinforcements made more sense, since they'd be passing back and forth through a naval landing force.
Hopefully, when the re-code of the game engine is complete, we'll resolve the issue.
I did a huge amount of analysis of that map like 5 years ago with all of the proposed fixes. Bado never did anything with it though.
I could dig it up if would be of any help.
