๐ŸŽ… BETA Games Now Open for the Holidays! ๐ŸŽ…


This holiday season we are going to open BETA games to all
๐ŸŒŸ SILVER and GOLD members! ๐ŸŒŸ



There are just a few things you should know:

  • BETA games will not affect your points!
  • Winning or losing in BETA will not affect your points, stats, nor give you medals. So have fun!
  • In Fixed Force games, a 2v1 attack is possible (this may change before final release)
  • In Team Assassin games, all targets must be eliminated to win (this may change before final release)
  • There are still some functions that have not been implemented yet, like Diplomacy and the Auto-Troops Due column
  • Trying to create a Two team assassin or mercenary game will give you an error
  • BETA games will be open for all paying members from December 14 2018 (GMT) until January 8 2019 (approximately)

TO PLAY BETA GAMES

  • Click on the BETA tab (in between GAMES and SCOREBOARD)
  • Click the JOIN tab to join a game
  • or Click the START A GAME button to create a new game

This is going to be awesome, I am so glad that I have dropped the number of active games I have so I can play more beta games.

First impressions, the speed is awesome, the maps, of course, are awesome as always. 2 Issues I see:

1. The Chat does not work.
2. The colors seem to be malfunctioning. Some of the games they have the same color listed multiple times, and you have to search for them as they are not in any order. Also, the default Neutral color is not set to Neutral.

Outside of that, I like it, it is scary fast, might start doing single attacks more than the rush attacks.

Might be cool to get on a map and let the troops just pile up for some 100's v 100's attack and see how it handles that, Maybe I will see if one of my games I can get the other player to work with me on that.

Feedback - numbers hard to read

touch up needed, the numbers are hard to read on this map unless I enlarge to 175%+

awesome overall!!!

Is a two team assassin game even an option.

It is and it is a different format that causes a different approach to the game, no longer can you just send a mass of troops to your teammate in an effort to take a command or make a move, with our leaving yourself open to be killed and end the game.

It causes your approach to be a bit different. And when it get's to multiple 2 individual teams 2v2v2.... so on, it really get's interesting.

I do not really agree with this Cardinalsrule.
It is clearly obvious that the target is from the other team, which supports your statement, but it is a complete different gameplay and strategy than a regular teamgame...

Now back to the Beta game mode.

So far I will support the points mentioned by Engineer and SGT:

- Chat not working
- Color tab is quite disordered on some maps (colors are listed in alphabetical order, guess would be better by "type" or "colors")
- Some numbers are hard to read (can be clearer by changing color)
- When you look at the tab "Personnel" it is mentioned which rank the players have, but the symbol is "Cadet" for everyone

It is indeed impressively fast. Looks great!

If you use Puffin broweser on Android smartphones then the BET games won't work. You need to use a different browser :)

1. the new engine requires you to kill all targets, not just one, so indeed, a four-player doubles assassin doesn't make sense anymore. Actually, thinking logically, it wouรถldn't make sense before either, since assassin's usually are supposed to kill all their targets, and not just one.

2. The new games are not linked up with the database of the players, that's why everybody is a cadet.

In the new engine, team assassin means you need to kill *all* your team's targets, so 2 team assassin does not make sense and those games are not allowed to be created by system.

@engineerairborne - You are correct, the chat is not working - it should be working - we are looking in to that right now. Thanks.

I do not see an issue with the colors. Can you post a screenshot or game number where you see the same color multiple times? Thanks.

The colors should be listed in alphabetical (for now)

You are correct - neutral is not always neutral - the color selection is still being worked on.

Once you set the colors for a specific map - then the game remembers your choice and those colors will be used the next time you start a game on that map

@SgtPatton - Yes, Flash will no longer be used on this site - everything will be migrated to HTML5. You should be able to play BETA on all phones and mobile devices, as well as across all browsers and platforms.... Albeit, the maps will still be small on a phone!

Yes, the troops numbers shown on the map are not the final design. They are rendered in low res for some reason. The UI (visual part of the game) is the last thing to be worked on. Functionality was the priority until now. Appearance will improve over time as we spend more time on that.

Sebrim - Correct. The BETA games are not connected to the database, so points, rank, score, etc, is just a default setting and won't be stored.
