Let's say you have two adjacent regions with 3 troops in each one. You're pretty sure you're going to lose both of them soon, as someone else is making moves in that area of the map and you don't have enough vested interest to bother defending them. Assuming you have a free troop move that you don't need to use anywhere else, would it be better to troop move so that you have 2 troops in one region and 4 in the other, or to leave them at 3 each? Ie. which scenario would likely result in more casualties for your opponent? I'm not sure if it would make a difference or not, but then I've never been any good at math. I'm curious though.

Very small difference ... depending on how many troops he attacks with it can be a decimal to even more than 1% ... 4,2 is better than 3,3 in any case. Other decisions should weigh more heavily: e.g. can u save troops (fort anywhere), you're interests might be appetized later on (if u can defeat odds and hold on), etc. ...

Depending on the stage of the game I would go for 1 and 5 in the hope that they went after easier targets than the 5. If I'm going to lose them anyway then so what - in the meantime, something might turn up...

I like this in that you might get an easy card swapping thing going.
Especially if you put the 5 farther away from the main force.

But as blondo said, " Other decisions should weigh more heavily "

I was bored this morning, and had a few minutes to kill... so here's the numbers
The # of attacking armies would change the actual percentages,
but I used 7 attacking armies
and this is what i came up with.
(the LOWER the number, the better for YOU)

if 3 and 3, then 43.3%

if 1 and 5, then 43.1%
if 5 and 1, then 49.2% = WORST

if 2 and 4, then 40.9% = BEST
if 4 and 2, then 42.9%

So is there nobody who will challenge this, and correct the obvious error?

Dang good guess...
it is no wonder that you are at the top of the scoreboard...

and yes indeed, 1 little unemployed piggy always stays home...
