The rule as had played the entire game was, if you sent an extra army, you got an extra match to win. I know of no mentions of anything to contrary in the entire thread.

This still is the rule, however ironz sent an extra army too, negating your advantage. The current round needs to be played according to the 'updated' rules. Allowing a redirection to the horn would be unfair since you now now budh is attacking there.

Ironz hasn't logged in for 4 days, I sent him an invite to match to see if he might come back after an email and nothing.
