SILVER Donor Tournament Discussion Only

Hello Fellow Silver Donors!

It is time start planning on our exclusive 300 point Silver Tournament. There are currently 36 Silver players who will be involved. This can lead to several combination of games. For example:

Round 1 - 6 Player Games
Round 2 - 6 Player Game

or

Round 1 - 6 Player Games
Round 2 - 3 Player Games
Round 3 - 2 Player Game

or

Round 1 - 9 Player Games
Round 2 - 4 Player Game

I would love to know if had any map or setting preferences, or if I should just choose Classic Massive or Classic Evolved and some random settings.

If you have any suggestions, then post them in this thread!

I'd prefer NOT massive (small maps are nice) and NOT fixed (chess bores me). I also like more smaller games (don't mind some 1v1 thrown in).

I love Classic Massive flat rate! Tend to be some epic games that have some time to evolves. Feels like after the long donor campaign, the games need to really have some time to develop. Small maps and escalate don't last very long. I don't like 3 player games (except assassin because they get stagnant with the two weaker players always trying to pull the leader back down. Thanks for organizing this!

P.S: You are like Walter White. I was ramping down my games for the summer and I'm down to a record low 3 games, and now you tease me back into my addiction with this tournament!

Wow. It's like you read my mind... I totally agree what what Eric said. This should be an epic tourney. Massive Flat Rate gets my vote. Chance, of course.

I have personally experienced a better time with games of medium size. More interactive than 1v1, faster than those looooong 12-24 player's games.
Maybe first round of 4 6-players games. More fun!

I don't get DMS myself (which just means that I recognize when I get "unfairly" good dice as well as the bad) so it's only an advantage for me to play against those who do. Also, I actually do like a good chess game but not here. Playing with probabilities increases the dynamics of the game immensely. If it were all Fixed I wouldn't even be here.

I would like to suggest for the tournament that player face off against player of around equal experience. I say this because I have been in two tournaments in the past and in the first round I was up against some of the best players in the game - I was knocked out fast and I did not enjoy the experience. My 2 cents, Onesimus17

It seems to me that the poll has illustrated a fairly clear preference in all settings, save for reserves and the map. If it's not too much of a hassle, maybe we could have two more polls to determine each; only permitting one vote in each poll. This is just my opinion of course, but I think the most suitable maps from which to choose are: Classic Massive, Classic Evolved, British Isles, Balkan Peninsula, Conflict Africa, North America, Rivals of Rome, and Mars. The others are either too small, too big, or too unfamiliar to a lot of players. Just my two pennies worth.

nice solution. I like how there is also some strategy in choosing a game knowing who some of the opponents are. (I just picked by my currently hottest map myself.)

Okay, you two are the last two players to join the Silver Donors Tournament. Because you will be playing a 1v1 game, we're going to make it a "best 2 out of 3" round.

So if each of you could create ONE game, with whatever settings you want, and send an invite to the other player, then we can get the tournament under way.

I will create the 3rd game if necessary and send you both the invites, but to start ->

1) Create ONE game (2 players)
2) Any settings you want
3) Password protected
4) Add "Silver Donor Tournament" in the note section
5) Send an invite to the other player
