TIME REMAINING:

- Please refer to the fixtures listed above.
- It is up to the participants to organize games between themselves.
- You have until the 10th of January to complete all 22 games - 6 weeks.
- The games may be played in any order.
- Settings are to be 24hr, Flat Rate, One, Anywhere, Chance.
- Please add MajCom League to the game notes when creating games.
- Remember to report completed games you won on this thread, as soon as they finish.
- There is a scoreboard on the second post of this thread. It will be updated often.
- You don't play each map twice, only once. You play each opponent twice but on different maps.
- The first time you play someone, it is the computer that randomly decides who goes first.
- The order of the names on the fixture list does not represent who should be first or second.

- Creating Games:

Last season there was often a hold-up where people were waiting on others to create games for them. I found it a bit odd that when the second player joined and it didn't turn out right that they still asked the other player to make it again... So this season if you join and it's wrong then the polite thing would be to set up the next one and send out an invitation yourself. Or, as I saw some people doing last season - it's maybe an even better idea to create and join a few games at once so you can hopefully get the right first player quickly. The deadline is a lot tighter this time so you don't want to be messing around too long waiting for games to start.

HOW TO REPORT LEAGUE WINS:

You must report your wins on the forum as soon as they happen. We have a standardised way or reporting kills in the league. The idea of reporting it this way is so I can can just copy/paste it directly on the fixtures list (and so it doesn't end up looking a complete mess).

When reporting a win:

- First put a note of which league you are in, and then which map you played.
- Underneath that write both player names seperated simply by a small v (in bold).
- Both names should be written in CAPITAL LETTERS.
- The one who played first should always be on the left hand side, the second player always on right.
- The winner should be written in bold.
- The names should be a link to the game.
- (1st) or (2nd) should follow the names - in italics (including the brackets), to indicate if the winner went first or second.

You can add effects with the little buttons above the forum message you are writing. You select the text and then click the button you need. There is an Enhanced Editor mode that can make it even easier to do - see below for instructions.

EXAMPLES:

Let's say Namelochil beats Dalinar on the Rome map. Namelochil went first. His post would look like this:

VIDEO EXAMPLE:

NOTE THE CAPITAL LETTERS, ITALICS, BOLDING, THE GAME LINK AND THE ORDER OF THE NAMES - FIRST PLAYER ALWAYS ON THE LEFT.

The (1st) and (2nd) are there to denote whether the winner played first or second.

Any time you write something different to all the others (ie no capital letters, writing vrs. instead of just a v, incorrect game links, etc) then it means I have to spend time correcting it. Over masses of games this time adds up. So please take an extra minute to be sure that your post looks as it should compared with all the others on the fixtures list.

Optional - Enhanced Editor Mode:

This is a pro tip to make it a lot easier to be creative in the forum and report kills. First, you have to go into the secret forum options page, located here and scroll down to the bottom where it says Message Editor Interface - and change it to Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing.

Then, you come back to the forum and make like you are going to make a post somewhere. On the new post box there is a little button up in the top right - it looks like two little A's. You want that selected - it will have a little square box around it if it is on. You only have to do this once and then it stays on forever (unless you click it off yourself).
Now you should be able to see the results of things like Bold, Underline, Italics, links, etc as you type them in.. much easier I find.
Unfortunately enhanced editor mode does not work on Chrome. It does work on Firefox and IE.

For Information - why we abandon games instead of just skipping the first turn:

It may seem strange to some of you that we abandon so many games instead of simply skipping the first turn. In some cases it's fine to skip a turn but mostly it's not a good idea, as I will explain.

In 1v1 games, there is a built-in function that ensures that the second player recieves the same amount of troops to deploy as the first person does. This is an attempt to mitigate the first player advantage.

If you just skip the first turn then the second player starts the game but it will bypas this built-in funtionality, and actually put whoever skipped the turn at a disadvantage. The only time it would not give the person who skipped a disadvantage would be if the initial deploy for both players was already at the minimum possible, 3.

Also, if you skip a turn to deferr the first turn advantage then obviously you shouldn't deploy deferred troops.. which is something that people often get wrong or forget.

Additionally, if you start turn on a map like twelve domains it will still deploy on castles and anywhere with autodeploys.

So, long story short, it's not a good idea to skip the first turn instead of going AWOL - unless it's a normal type map with only an initial deployment of 3. Then it's totally fine, as long as you remember not to deploy deferred troops and to report it correctly at the end with regards to who played first and second.

Let me see if I can make this easy to understand. You post games that you have won. If you lose, the winner will post.

If you win going first, copy and paste the html under "Onyx-Rome", change the game number and the player's names. Above it write Gold league and what map it is.

Same thing if you win going second, but use the html code under "gold-Australia" from Master's post.

Put the players names in the order of their turns, if you went first and won, your name goes first. Same with going second.

remember to use all CAPS for the player's names.

Well, I'm completely out of my depth and terrified. But, let's get it on.

An FYI for Onyx League players, I'll be out of the country with limited internet access from Dec 12th thru the 21st. I've sent seven invites with one game in progress. I'd like to finish all these games before leaving and will not be starting additional games until I return.

Most people like to play gradually. You've got 6 whole weeks for 22 games - so playing 4 games a week will get it done.

Or, you can blast through them all in a week - it's up to you.

P.S. - Risky, Don't Panic!! That explanation page is total overkill - it's trying to convey a simple idea in a million words. Once the kills start coming in and you can see how it works in practice it should be easier to understand. That is if the other contestants do it right ofc.. there's a couple of people who've gone whole leagues without getting it right.. I still live in hope every new season!

It can take anything from a day to a week, or even two weeks. It depends on quite a lot of things like the map and the speed at which people play.

Btw everyone - I'm going away tomorrow for a work training course so I won't be able to update the scoreboard until Thursday night.
