Do you really need to know exactly how many points that you will win/lose to team up on noobs? Isn't it easy enough to tell that if you are a high rank, and lose to a private, you are losing a ton?
In light of that, I say showing the points is not harmful at all. I say that there is not a difference in knowing the point loss potential, and knowing someone's rank, and ganging up accordingly.
