Hi everyone, and good luck working on the MajorCommand system to those undertaking the task.

I have a group of 5 or so friends who want to play a game together, but trying to co-ordinate everyone to join within 5 seconds or less is hard, someone gets left out.

Is there a protocol for starting a game with players that are intended to participate, instead of it being open to anyone?

Honestly no, there's not at the moment a way to password restrict a game like we could before the old engine died- but if you can corral your friends to get online and join a game you make within an hour, a casual 24 hour game will work fine for you. Just make, it, go to your awaiting, open the link, then copy and sent it to your buds. Just get their attention first. I wish I had a better answer, but if they're online, it shouldn't be too tough to open and fill it with just your people if you just get them to sign in and join the damn thing when you ask them to. :)

Best bet is when they're all sitting on their computers at work. Of if they ain't white collar workers sitting at computers, right after dinner in the evening if they can get their kids off Minecraft for ten minutes.

Speaking as someone who tries desperately to fill slow and fast game all the time.

Thanks @Tapeworm - in my experience, even 30 seconds was too long.

It would be really nice to be able to pre-allocate all the players. For example, enter all the player usernames to init the game.
