2018 Year End Doubles Round Robin Tournament: The Doubles Crown Series

What do you guys think of a 16 point / player entry fee with a 75/25 split for first/second place? With 16 teams, that would result in 384 points for the winning team, 128 points for the second place team.

The plan right now is for:

Group Stage, round 1 (First three games): Mesopotamia
Group Stage, round 2 (Second three games against the same opponents, same settings): Middle East
Group Stage Tie Breaker: Far East Asia

Elimination Stage, Quarterfinals (Best of 3s): Sea of Japan
Elimination Stage, Semifinals (Best of 3s): Philippines
Elimination Stage, Finals (Best of 3s): South America

If anyone feels strongly about this, please let me know. I'm open to recommendations.

I would say 50 points is reasonable for a Forum Tourney.

Makes wining that little bit sweeter (Might even help somebody reach a highest rank)

I also think Meso is a bit small for a good game...but it does add something different.

50 Points does make things a little better, especially for our higher ranked participants.

It looks from the setup that you'd be playing 3 games at a time, so no reason why a grunt couldn't play as long as they left 3 games open for this for the duration of the tournament.

If you just Update your first post with the tournament Structure and other info then it is easier for everyone to look at/keep track of. (You might even need a new thread with a couple of reserved posts at the top.

Also (just a point to note) You might want to look at how the knockout is drawn.

You won't get 8 teams with different records going through (especially with no goal difference to split us up) so maybe should just be predetermined depending on where you finish in each group (ie green 1 plays Yellow 2 and vice versa) like the World cup. Although god knows if they even organise the world cup like that anymore.
