What are the extra titles for players in Forum postings?

I've often wondered about the titles that players have under their name and rank on Forum postings, such as On Patrol, Squad Leader, Battalion Commander, Moderator. What's curious is that there doesn't seem to be a correlation between a player's rank and their additional title on the Forum postings. A captain might be On Patrol and a corporal might be a Company Commander. Where do those titles come from?

They are directly related to how many posts you have made on the forum.

I have to say, looking at the "titles", I don't really see anything interesting, funny, or special. What would you think if I changed them to something more interesting?

I'm not sure why there needs to be a title for the number of times someone posts a comment in the Forums. I guess that sort of thing is important to those of you who seem to spend a lot of time in the Forums. I don't, so I'm not a good one to ask.

Well I think all forum software comes with titles for posters. It probably stems from the idea that forums were complete website in themselves, not necessarily a side feature of a larger site. And if the forum is the whole website, then yes, ranks and titles to encourage people to participate would make sense, for that would be the incentive But that does necessarily make sense for this site, but nonetheless, it is a feature...

I'm not happy with the new titles: I'm a "distinguished contributor" which is actually pretty accurate, but Sebrim an expert? Nooowaaay.

yeah that deserves some explanation. i was a bit intrigued by your signature and that last post. since i wasn't that busy (understand really bored) i did a little inquiry and found about the valley girls !

my investigation led me to this too :

a hint + boredom + curiosity + the web led to this quote which made me laugh.

i guess you deserved a thank you more than a fuck off but eh ... "it's better to deserve honors and not have them than have them and not deserve them".

Yeah, the old Titles were something like this ->

Brigadier Commander
Platoon Leader
Master Sargent
Patrol Officer
etc...

Honestly, I didn't understand the Hierarchy myself. And I thought they were too close to the Players Ranks, but not the same, so a bit confusing.

I changed them to something I thought was easier to understand

Level 0: Shadowy Lurker
Level 1: Faint Background Noise
Level 2: Familiar Sound
Level 3: Occasional Commentator
Level 4: Recognized Voice
Level 5: Notable Commentator
Level 6: Prominent Opinion
Level 7: Distinguished Contributor
Level 8: Renowned Expert
Level 9: Highly Acclaimed Authority on the Subject
Level 10: Official Expert on the Subject
Level 11: Senior Official in Charge
Level 12: Official High Commander of the Forums
Level 13: Voice of God

Even though the descriptions are subtly different, I think the "Level X" makes it easier to understand.
