Tournaments

I know that this site is still in beta, and you guys (admins) are probably busy with other stuff, but I think that it would add to this site a lot if there were several (as in 8+) tournaments going on. The Survivor Tournament is great and AAFitz's tournament seems to be doing well. So are you guys considering creating more tournaments?, or if you are too busy to create and moderate them, appointing a small group of users (like the Screening Room Assistants) to create tournaments??

Tournaments are very much hoving into view and should be implemented in the very near future.

But of course, we encourage unofficial tourneys like fitz's (and z's planned one), and dedicated tourney organizers will certainly be noted by management.

I have seen some work being done on tournaments over on the development server, so it's moving forward. Like you said LH, it's Beta, and there are a LOT of things to be done to polish up the site. I think it takes a bit longer the way user input is encouraged and implemented, but it's making for an awesome site.

Certainly, tho our tourney setup is pretty sexy.

Just to clarify if it wasn't clear: the setup can be used for unofficial, user-started tourneys as well.

Well our tournament implementation will be basic to start but will grow in complexity. However you may be able to use our tournament system to automate parts of your own tournament. That is actually our ultimate goal, a hybrid system.
