So I've been farting around with an idea for a Jamaica map. I think that this style map can be adapted for a game map. It can be overlayed with color like the new Northern America map, but I would like to see how this map would look without coloring the land to denote the various bonus regions. What if the gameplay were set up as a Road/city layout ? The roads and sea routes denote territ connections, so there is no need to color the land. Colored icons can denote the bonus regions.

Anyway, can't wait for the Foundry to start, but I like the peeps here so much better than that other site, that I would, if I could, rather develop this map here.

Topographical maps, if done well, have the potential to look... how do I say it... fucking amazing. One question, though, why Jamaica? It just seems quite random and frankly not all that appealing (boring shape). Another location might fair better.

Well, thank you for the compliment. I however do not think Jamaica is boring, (anything but), The reason for choosing Jamaica actually was, it's wide horizontal shape fits MC's format. Also because, I have done research on Jamaica for a previous map project.

(I think that this size map, is the optimal size MC's format).

I would like to do a map pack on this area, that includes, and is centered on the Bermuda Triangle.

That's a fair point. The premise I was coming from was that if you take a look at MC's current maps - small/big world, Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and so forth - you see that they're all pretty huge in terms of geographical area, and to go from that to a place like Jamaica seemed odd. I do support this though - the graphic you posted looks good.

I left room for some boats or whatnot to increase the territ count a bit. I see a territ count of somewhere between 25-45. Not all maps need to humongous. medium and small territ count maps have their place imo.

edit: Also, Have you ever seen that Doodle map at CC ? It has only 18 territs, and is one of the most popular map in the stable.
