I don't know if this issue has been covered here.

Stuck games, what to do with them? Today the issue has been mainly resolved by creating side games, but couldn't it be easier to change the game mode, if everyone agree? Like passing from an Escalite to Escalate, or from Standard to Assassin?

There has been a proposal to increase reserves at larger incrementes in later rounds. (this would be similar to changing EscaLite to EscaLate)

Changing mode to Assassin interesting. That would seem to favor the player with the highest troop count. Player with highest troop count may have gotten it by making most conservative moves, i.e. taking singles and building giant stacks, which may have helped cause the stalemate regardless. Or by being attacked the least.

It is also worth considering how such a change would affect gameplay in the rounds leading up to the switch.

Interesting brainstorm idea, Palmono!

The thing is to let the players decide what to do based on the game's history and settings.

Yeah, that could be an option in the new engine. To allow players to decide what to do and when.
