you know the type, down at the bottom of most forums, shows you who is online. Would be helpful for communication, pick up games, and real time games.

You wanna know who's in the forums or who is online in general? If the latter, it should go on the scoreboard instead of forums, I guess.

vbulletin maybe have this functionality built in. In which case it should be deployed.

I'm personally indifferent, but you may want to consider that some people would prefer to opt out of this feature. Settings option?

right the vbulletin option is temporary until we can get an internal solution with opt-out.
