REPORT ALL KILLS HERE from the first round of each tourney. The second round kills do not count towards event totals.
So Black Friday is neigh, and you are going through your shopping list, but what are you going to get for yourself? How about a slay load of POINTS! We are bringing back our favorite and yours, with a slight twist:
There is an event level buy in of 25 points for each of the 50 participants, which puts 1250 points in the winner’s pot. The first, second, and third place players with the highest total kill counts will receive 750, 300, and 200 points, respectively. (1)
There will be 5 separate sub-tourneys in the event, one each on:
Each player in the event will be required to sign up for all for all 5 of these tourneys (an email with links will be sent once the 5 sub tourneys are created).
Each tourney will have a 10 point buy in with a 60/40 payout. The first place player will get 300 points, and the remaining 4 second place players will get 50 points each.
After each turn you make a kill(s), report the map it was on and who was eliminated, if you want to have it count towards your final kill count.
You will need to have a user image associated with your account so we can show who killed who.
Reply to this thread to sign up, as only the first 50 players who do so will get in.
Happy Holidays, I mean Hunting!
(1) If two people are tied for first place (which means there would be no second place), they would split the first and second place pots (750 + 300) / 2. Etc, etc.

This question was posed: Just thought you might want to make a pre-emptive ruling on whether in-game diplomacy and cross-game collusion is allowed. I'm indifferent as to what you decide, but it would probably be best to get out in front before someone gets their feathers all ruffled.
Our response is: You can do whatever you want inside your current map, although breaking diplos is frowned upon (and everyone else tends to make you their priority target at that point). However you are a Merc, and you have no allegiances outside the current battle, except for the payout at the end.
So in-game diplomacy is cool. Out-side of game diplomacy is not cool. Agreeing to do something in one game in exchange for something in another game is not cool.
Correct, correct, and correct.
How about painting a target on kill leaders?
I think it is logical to say, that if kerver (who won the last Merc League) has 20 kills and you have 19, you would do whatever you could *yourself* in the remaining games you and he are both in, to keep him from getting any more kills. Anyone watching the score board would naturally try to prevent kerver from racking up any more kills. However, I think it is bad form to come right out and tell everyone to gang up on him. What any Merc does on his own is fine. And in the midst of a raging battle a few Mercs may stand back to back (for a while). But Mercs should not collude beyond that. Unless it is team Mercs, but that is for another event ;-)
