I suspect I'm in the minority, but I actually enjoy playing without the rankings, and hope there will eventually be an option to do so even after rankings return. :)

No rankings? That's kind of silly. If anyone wants a "Participation" ribbon, go to Risk on the Steam site.

Highly doubtful the changes are permanent. Please refer to the testing the SIA group did on this (Dori Friend and Kyle Roof).
