A method of scoring might be:
All clans start at 0 points. Current and any future clans.
For every clan game the winning clan gets 1 point for every clan defeated and every losing clan loses 1 point
so after the first 3 way game there would be one clan on 2 points and 2 clans on -1
the combined total score of all clans would always stay at 0.
This would open up the prospect of 2 clan games - the 'excluded' clan (in our current 3 clan environment) would neither gain or lose - and ensures that any future competitive clans start on an even playing field
Or you could use pretty much the same system but incorporate size of teams - winning clan scores the number of losing players and losing clan scores the minus the number of winning players, so in a 3-way tripples game winning clan scores 6 while losing clans each score -3
