So recently a 2v2 Africa game in the MoM tournament started, with one player getting ALL the airports on the drop. Seems a little unfair that this is possible. It was suggested that the airports be made into a 'command', with a bonus of 0, so that getting all of them on the drop wasn't possible.

Shep, or another cartographer? Would it be much work to make this happen?

Thanks for remembering to post this. In theory, if they did this, one team could still get all the airports. But at least not one person.

And if the commands in Africa are tampered with, a long known issue is that Bas-Uele is not part of the East Congo command.

I'll take a look. What I've found is if we do too much tinkering with commands made up of regions that are in other commands, there are instances in which the game won't initialize. This is especially a problem in 1v1 games in which 20% of the regions are set as neutral before the other regions are distributed, then the server needs to distribute them according to the rules we've set up for that map. Sometimes if you have too many layers of commands you have case in which it's impossible for the server to distribute the regions within the map's rules, and the game gets frozen.

Hopefully this issue will be fixed with the game engine recode... if the neutrals were assigned AFTER regions were given to the players, it would be less of an issue.

edit: I just went ahead and created the hidden command. It's made up of five regions, which shouldn't mess the server up. Bonus is zero. And perhaps somebody beat me to it, but Bas-Uele definitely shows up as part of East Congo.

If anybody has a problem with a game on that map not initializing I'd like to hear about it.

Oddly, the map is already obsolete - no South Sudan.
