Final Game of the Tournament. This is what we're playing..........

Classic Massive...24 player...12 players and 12 NP's...3...Path...Chance...Escalate.....
Every player will be assigned a NP. The NP's are numbered 1-12. I will use a random number generator to assign each of them to each player.
Your NP will be worth 1/2 of the total points that you have accumulated throughout the tournament. You don't have to save your NP. If it dies, you continue but the player that eliminated your NP will receive those points. You can eliminate your NP but you only receive 1 point. It may be worth it to save someone else from getting it. The player with the most points at the end of the game will be crowned winner (regardless of who wins the game). Tie-breaker is a 1vs1 on 12D.....

Good Luck to everybody!

Everybody's points are now reset to Zero
sorry i am confused - why have you decided to reset points for this round? given that higher scoring players have higher valued NPs but cannot get the full points from them (just 1 point instead) , they would now be at a disadvantage and penalised for having collected more points in the prior rounds?

I too would like to know the reasoning behind this decision. This coming from me who has the most to gain from a reset of points as I think that I'll barely squeak into the match. I feel that it's reasonable for the people who performed well throughout the tournament to carry a small advantage into the final round. Obviously, it's your tournament, so just my opinion.

Last Rule to sort out. Do we attack first turn or just deploy and reinforce?

Hi, I'm surprised as well, especially about ditching the points gained throughout the tournament. Thank you for sportsmanship on that matter, Felksgaming, btw.

I understand it would look as if I'm trying to keep my edge, as it happens that I will be among the players with the most points starting the final round. To me, it's more a question of coherence. I wouldn't mind a simple winner-take-all final round, as bilsi had initially mentioned as an option starting the tournament. In my opinion, giving a point value to NPs (which could be fun), only makes sense if we keep the points gained so far, especially since these values will be based on the players' scores before this last round.

Sorry guys I don't know what I was thinking. Was very tired last night. Points are not reset. Doesn't make sense with the higher NP scoring.
SSo again, points are not reset...

Ok, right now it's 6-4 (genghisknows vote doesn't count), in favor of YES, attack first round.
2 votes left...If it's a tie (the best NO can get) we'll go with YES. So it's final, YES it is.

Points are carried forward, your NP has half of your points,
No worries, I totally get it. Sorry for you!
Thanks for the clarification.

and you can attack first turn.

I'm going to assign NP numbers now. The game should be up shortly. I'm just waiting on sgtpatton to let me know when it's ready to join. I'll send everyone the password when the game is up.
Good luck this final game and let the best man win!

Next tournament begins April 01. It'll be different team sizes, doubles, triples and quads. NP's will be involved again. I think most of you understand how important the NP's are now. Please let me know what kind of format you want and anything else you can think of. Don't forget the NP's.....

Maybe I missed something, but I don't understand why NP's are important now? Just my preference, but it just seems like an unnecessary complication?

Maybe I missed something
yes, we discussed this in the other thread: it is a means to balance points collected with giving everyone in the finals a chance to win the tournament. also playing with nps has been fun..

Ya, you missed the entire tournament. NP's were implicated to add some fun to the game. They were worth 2 points in every game whereas a player was worth only 1.
The NP's now are assigned to each player, 1-12. These are worth half of the points that player accumulated up until now. It gives the players with low points a chance to catch up...

Next tourney will have them as well.
