Planned Down Time? Advance Warning Please and Please Stop the Clock when going offline

Please, Please, Please . . . Please give us advance warning, (24 hours?), before taking MC offline. It is very, very awkward to be in the middle of a game changing turn only to have the game go offline.

And please do "stop the clock" when the game goes offline. A simple "if ... then" statement in the clock loop should do the job ?!?
