no mercy AWOL setting for team games

I'm learning this is a brutal setting for team games. In a quads game, one of our team missed his first turn, so he was out. Then another was 2 hours late for his turn in the second round, and couldn't return to base, so we're down to 2 on our quads team.. :)

I agree that it is a crappy situation for your team, but...

To me, settings are a choice made by the person setting up a game, and so is the decision to join the game when all settings are known.

I don't think the solution here is having Sheriff work his magic to modify settings. I think everyone involved knew or should have known the settings going in and chose to proceed.

I know I've both created and signed up for games, only to later realize the settings weren't what I thought they were. Sometimes I overcame the blunder; other times I had to suck it up and take the loss - and the lesson.

To me, it's not a feature thing; it's a choice thing.

I don't disagree, Brophy! My post was just sort of a heads-up to game creators and game joiners, about that particular choice. That it's maybe not a great setting for team game. Unless you really want to bring home that "showing up is the first part of success."
I posted it here rather than in suggestions bc it wasn't in any way intended as a complaint about having the setting as a choice for games (I would just probably use it more for singles' games, and personally won't join another team game set to it) but rather an observation, and not a request for Sheriff to change anything-not at all!

Stormcat,

My post agreed with you; I just added that I didn't think it was something that required any work on the part of the Sheriff before others started chiming in that this change or that change needs to be made because there is something wrong with the way things are.

We are on the same page.
