New Doubles Forum Tournament?

Who would be interested in playing another Doubles Forum Tournament, similar to the Doubles Crown Tournament that Bear hosted? I had a really good time with that, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

I'll ponder this a little bit, and maybe float a couple of ideas... I will say I'm not sure how I would come up with brackets. I may very well just draw names at random and that's the spot teams go into...

Will bracket structure be the anticipated F15/partner on one side, other 15 teams on the other side? All roads lead to the champ!

Well if I could get away with it... But I'm sure other participants would object, and this idea would be overruled by the fine folks at centcom.

I believe that you find your own partner, the pairings for the games (where you are in the bracket) is what is random. Message a friend and get a partner!

If you're doing a Round Robin, the original Doubles Crown seed structure is quite good, maybe just copy that for the groups:

If you're doing pure elimination instead, it would look more like this:

A random partner? Honestly ...that's what the current tournament generator does. I'll just create them there. Why go through the trouble for the organizer? Just join a doubles tourney there. :lollypop:


I prefer to pick my partner...I'm in only if I get to pick my partner.

Could you check with Sheriff if (exceptionally) it could be arranged that you can also throw in some Fixed Force games - and the tournemant still be open to all. Eric and I were sitting on an iceberg most of the games in this last tournament, and this could be a possibility to balance the luck factor a bit.

There is still a bit of luck involved with fixed force. 3 card sets, no set with 4 cards, and the drop. I'm pretty sure I've had 5 cards and no set before, but not certain of that. And believe me, probably nobody on this site over the last month has had more "icey dice" than yours truly. :argh:

Anyway, for this tournament, all games will be chance, escalate, 1 anywhere reinforcement.
