How do I know what Team I'm joining ?

In the join a game area I was going to join a team game but I was wondering if I can join a specific team or are they randomly chosen ?:dontknow:

The open team slots should be colored differently, and grouped together. Those of the same color are part of the same team.

when joining the game, click on the map rather than the "Join" button and it will show you the open slots.
