If one were writing an eventual competitor for vbulletin, what might one name it? Note that this theoretical product which certainly does not exist on some developers computer is focused strictly on forums, and not the plethora of random shit that vbulletin finds itself doing, so consider that when considering a name.

Thx

Boardwalk ain't bad. SurfBoard (or BoardSurf, not as catchy) not only uses the word "board" but suggests what most people will do with it. And there doesn't seem to be anything just called Forum.

I guess you can't call it BullShit, as in "I'm learning how to use BullShit, and I'm knee-deep in it."

For some reason phpBB doesn't seem to have the same gusto as vBulletin. I think vBulletin sucks balls, but people love it. I think it is because it has a nice modern out-of-the-box look and feel to it. phpBB used to have a generic feeling look out of the box (as it probably should) that just made it seem "cheap" (as it is). vBulletin needs a real competitor. Anyone who has ever integrated vBulletin into a custom web site knows that.

Yeah I dont know why we're all stuck on the term "board".. as neither vb nor phpbb are bulletin boards at all. They're forums. But "forums" alone lacks punch and pizzaz.

I like boardr so far. SurfBoard makes more sense... but boardr just looks cool and seems like the name of web software

Obviously you know better than me, but I find phpBB much easier to use and navigate. vBulletin (granted I've only used it on here) seems to have a lot of glitches and perks, and the interface isn't as nice.

Also like Boardr

dont get me wrong. I love phpBB. Just doesnt seem to market as well. vBulletin is extremely popular. And they charge several hundred bucks per year iirc
