Can someone please set up some FF tournament games? Not too many players - otherwise they won't fill

Duels on Nukes;
Assassin,15 players (= 5 players first round) on Rivals of Rome;
6 players per map (North America; Mexican American War, Balkan Peninsula, or The Forgotten Kingdom,).
Thank you :)

Hi Micky,

If I get it right, you re requesting 3 tournaments:
1) FF Duels on nukes (shall I include the new rules?)
2) Assasin Rivals of Rome, first round 5 players x3, second/last round
3) North America 6 players (3 games?) assassin as well?

Win rate for first player is 80-90% in 1v1 without 'em.....so please do

FF on nukes, new rules, means that the first player gets one fewer troop to start. Depending on drop, I don't really see that as making a HUGE difference. They can't attack a target successfully on first turn, no other real difference. Be willing to bet that the first player win rate will still be over 80%. I LOVE duel tournaments, but I'll never join a FF duel, first player wins almost every time, new rule or not.

1. Yes - as brian already said - may be better to balance the game a bit. I leave it up to you though
2. yes
3. Sorry, I was not very clear. I meant to say 6 players (max - maybe 5?- up to you) for the first round. Not assassin. Singles only. I guess it would be difficult to make 3 rounds as FF does not attract many players. I suggested some maps, but leave it up to you which one.
Maybe you could create another tourney with another of these maps and change the number of players for the first round?.
Thanks :)

I could eventually agree with you Cards, especially with small maps. However on bigger maps, seems that second was not that bad:

Out of the 15 games,
6 were won by player 1
9 by player 2.

That is why I like no reinf settings on 1v1 FF games....it evens out the playing field

There may no longer be the luck factor when rolling the dice, but it still depends on the drop.
That's why I prefer reinforcement 1 anywhere --> to balance the drop

I LOVE duel tournaments, but I'll never join a FF duel, first player wins almost every time, new rule or not.

I was going thru and counting the conventional (non-tournament) wins/losses, but they are skewed because Number2 is a party to 90% of the New Rules FF games. When I counted in an earlier post with a broader sample of players, the numbers were 60/40 in a 55 game sample. Which is less favorable than 1st turn advantage for Chance without the New Rules for all maps.

Here's some more tournament data (pretty sure there were more FF 1v1 tournies, but neither "FF" nor "Fixed" appeared in any other descriptions aside from these 3):

https://www.majorcommand.com/tournaments/2624/
Map: Mars
First Player wins: 8
Second Player wins: 7 (including the championship, and both semi-final games)

https://www.majorcommand.com/tournaments/2433/
Map: Balkans
First Player wins: 11
Second Player wins: 4

https://www.majorcommand.com/tournaments/2531/
Map: Japan
Final only 1v1
First player lost, Second player won.

Add in the other tourney Hortik linked, P1 6 wins, P2 9 wins:
Tournament Total: 25 wins for Player1, 21 wins for Player2, or 54%.

Regarding Nukes specifically, that one extra troop is a huge advantage, more important on that map than on another small map like Meso or Ducks. I reveal rationale, so as not to divulge strategy.

Conclusion

The data indicates that New Rules are effective in a Fixed Force setting at mitigating first turn advantage. Even though a 100 game sample is small, given prior win rate of 80%+ FF 1v1, the current data are statistically significant to demonstrate a strong delta (change) over original rules.
