I regularly play LR 1v1s. Like all 1v1s, turn order and luck play a big part in the games, but imo the unlimited path setting that we're using for the tourney amplifies the "luck factor." I usually set my 1v1s to 3 path to somewhat mitigate the power of the flags. If you play against a good player, and they go first, and they get a good drop and good dice, yes, you will have a really hard time. What I'm trying to say is luck is a big factor, but turn order is only a small part of that. Drop is a big one on LR, and our ever-entertaining dice, too. But I do love the map and there are so many ways to play your drop vs your opponent. However, if one person gets a drop with an abundance of close flags in unlimited path, I'm not sure it's beatable unless they break records for ice.
The worst map for 1v1s is Euro Massive. First player deploys 13 compared to LR's 3 to the first player!
