Didn't ORBOTRON break the diplomatic agreement with navyche in this game?

A truce was offered and accepted in round 4, for a duration of 4 turns. I assume that means 4 complete turns, but is effective immediately upon acceptance. So to observe the truce, no one could attack until the beginning of round 9. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The apparent violation of the truce came in round 7 with France taking England.

...possession of France did change hands briefly in round 6, but I didn't think that would or should nullify the agreement.

Some one please get me squared away!

If I read it correctly, the truce was only between ORBO and Navyche. No one else was bound by the agreement.

Additionally, it was only between England and France. It appears that Orbo invaded England from Holland which was never part of the original agreement.

Hope that helps.

No, actually ORBO responded to me in a PM and told me why he did it...because, as mentioned above, France had changed hands, which nullifies the agreement. (The record shows him taking England before Holland.)

It was a combination of factors. The reserves were getting serious, the region in question had changed hands, and I was almost positive I could take him out completely. I rarely break truces, it's not standard practice, but in this situation I felt more than justified. It was a matter of going for the win or handing it away. If you'll notice the chatter, Navy didn't take it personally.

I think it was a good move. I did wonder about Navy's reaction, but I didn't want to say anything during the game.
